VICTORIA - On August 22, 2025, the Canadian Polish Congress BC Chapter hosted a solemn Black Ribbon Day ceremony at the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in Victoria. This annual event honors the victims of totalitarian regimes, particularly the Soviet and Nazi occupations in Eastern Europe.

The Canadian Polish Congress B.C. is partnering with the Polish Scouting Association in Canada (Związek Harcerstwa Polskiego w Kanadzie – ZHP Kanada) to explore the possibility of launching a Polish scouting troop (drużyna harcerska) in the Lower Mainland.

We are currently assessing community interest to help determine whether this initiative is feasible and where meetings (zbiórki) could potentially be held. Polish scouts (harcerze and zuchy) typically meet once a week and are organized into age and gender-based groups.

VANCOUVER - The vibrant Polish community of Vancouver has been proudly featured on the latest episode of TVP Polonia’s “Przystanek Ameryka”, a program highlighting Polish diaspora communities across North America.

VICTORIA - Premier David Eby has issued an official message recognizing May as Polish Heritage Month and celebrating the contributions of British Columbia’s Polish community.

In his statement, Premier Eby extended warm greetings to all those marking the occasion and highlighted the importance of this national observance, now in its second year.

“This May marks the second annual Polish Heritage Month in Canada, which provides a wonderful opportunity to recognize the invaluable contributions of Polish people to the social, economic and cultural fabric of our country,” he said.

NORTH VANCOUVER - The Canadian Polish Congress BC marked a historic milestone with a special luncheon at the Holiday Inn in North Vancouver, celebrating 80 years since the founding of the Canadian Polish Congress. Held on December 14, 2024, this memorable event brought together community members, leaders, and distinguished guests to reflect on the Congress’s rich history, honor dedicated volunteers, and look ahead to the future of Polish-Canadian advocacy in British Columbia
