
OTTAWA - The Young Polonia Leadership Summit, held on September 19-20, 2024, served as a distinguished forum for emerging leaders and established community figures dedicated to strengthening Polish-Canadian relations. This esteemed initiative convened over 30 prominent leaders from across Canada, alongside parliamentarians from both Poland and Canada, to engage in substantive discussions on leadership, heritage preservation, and the advancement of the Polish-Canadian community.
Seven young leaders from British Columbia, aged 18-35, were selected to participate in this significant gathering. They joined their peers from across the country to foster meaningful connections, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities to contribute to the continued growth and representation of Polonia in Canada.
Notable attendees included Polish parliamentarians Dorota Łoboda and Radosław Fogiel, as well as Canadian Members of Parliament Irek Kusmierczyk, Tom Kmiec, Dr. Helena Jaczek, Peter Fonseca, Blaine Calkins, Arpan Khanna, Damien C. Kurek, and Francesco Sorbara. Their presence underscored the shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and cultivating future leaders within the Polish-Canadian community.
The Young Polonia Leadership Summit is a collaborative initiative led by the Canadian Polish Congress, the Embassy of Poland in Ottawa, and the House of Commons. Through insightful discussions and mentorship opportunities, the summit provided participants with valuable perspectives on leadership, advocacy, and community development, ensuring that the next generation of Polish-Canadian leaders is equipped to make a meaningful and lasting impact.
